Compensating Cable

A thermocouple Extension wire is used to extend the signal from a probe to instruments such as a controller or recording device. Oftentimes, multi-pair thermocouple extension cables are preferred in these applications, Extension wire is designated by an "X" after the ANSI thermocouple type i.e. BX, EX JX, KX, SX, TX

Type of wires Temperature Range Standard Grade
TX O to 100 +/- 1.8 (1)
JX O to 200 +/- 4 (2.2)
EX O to 200 +/- 3.1 (1.7)
KX O to 200 +/- 4 (2.2)
NX O to 200 4 (2.2)
RX O to 200 +/- 9 (5)
